Privacy Policy — Did I Like It?
Last updated: 26 June 2026
Did I Like It? ("the app", "we") is a personal dining journal that lets you record which dishes you liked at restaurants. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and display name, used to sign you in and sync your data.
- Your content: the restaurants, visits, dishes, ratings, notes, and photos you choose to log.
- Friends & sharing: if you connect with friends, we store the connections between accounts and which meals you choose to share. Friends you connect with can see the meals you share with them (place, dishes, ratings, notes, photos, and any caption), and can like them.
- Search queries: when you search for a restaurant, the query is sent to Google Places to return results.
- Device location: only when you tap "Find restaurants near me", your device location is used once to find and rank nearby restaurants. We do not track or store your location history in the background.
How we use it
- To provide the core feature: saving and syncing your dining journal across your devices.
- To authenticate you and keep your data private to your account.
- To power optional social features (friends and a feed of meals your friends share with you).
- We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
Sharing with friends
Sharing is opt-in at the account level and adjustable per meal. You can make any meal private at any time from the meal's screen, and you choose whether new meals are shared by default in Profile. You can only connect with people who share their invite code with you (or whom you invite), and either party can remove or block the other. We provide controls to report a shared meal and to block a user. Meals you keep private are never visible to anyone else.
Where your data is stored
Your account and content are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (D1 database and R2 object storage). Restaurant search is powered by the Google Places API; see Google's privacy policy for how they handle search requests.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept until you delete it. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. This removes your meals, dishes, photos, and your account record from our servers.
Data export
You can export a copy of your data at any time from Profile → Export my data.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
